- Idony
- Idony fEnglish: medieval name derived from the Old Norse female personal name Iðunnr, which is also the name of a goddess in Old Norse mythology. It is probably a derivative of the element ið again: Iðunnr was in charge of the gods' apples of eternal youth. The name has sometimes been Latinized as Idonea, as if from the feminine form of the Latin adjective idoneus suitable.
